The problem
We sell by research. We pick an industry, study how it operates, form a problem hypothesis for each company, then work that into a deal. That tracking lived across planning files, with no single record and no way to see a funnel.
What changed in how we work
Each industry now has a written study, a verdict and its own funnel: companies, to research, deals started, replied, meetings held.
Each company carries its research notes, a hypothesis and its contacts. One action, start pursuing, turns it into a deal, and the deal moves through the pipeline from there.
Comments, files and an activity history now sit on the record they belong to, instead of across planning files.
What we built
- Industries, each with eight structured study fields, a verdict and a funnel count.
- Companies with research notes, a hypothesis, contacts, CSV import, and a start-pursuing action that opens a deal.
- A deal pipeline over seven stages the admin can configure, shown as a board or a table. Marking a company no fit requires a reason from a list.
- An AI-assisted study round trip. Leany writes a scoped prompt to the clipboard, we run it in an AI chat assistant and paste the answer back, and the fields fill in. Leany itself never sends anything to an AI service.
- A tasks board and a categorized idea pool.
- Comments with @mentions, attachments, an activity log, and archive and restore, built once so every kind of record gets all four.
- Notifications in the app and by email, and a finance section.
- Role-based access with 32 permission keys and a role builder, so giving someone access is a setting, not new code.
